The teeth and the health

The daily toothbrushing promotes good health. This is especially confirmed by a scientific study conducted in Scotland.

Do not brush your teeth increases cardiac risk by 70%

It is the unexpected result of a statistical study of 11,000 people, published in Scotland in 2010. It reveals that people who do not brush their teeth twice a day take 70% higher risk of dying from a heart attack.

Bacteria that grow in food residue between the teeth move down the throat and invade the whole organism. And it eventually reaches the arteries and the heart.

This reflects the fact that internal inflammations help clog arteries, causing swelling ..

The study took into account various economic and social criteria, lifestyle and habits of hygiene, health problems.

Professor Watt, however, believes that further research is needed to confirm that a bad oral hygiene is the cause of cardiovascular problems and are not mere correlation.
But in any case they are an indicator of greater risk. And if there was any doubt, we know that brushing teeth prevents some of the inflammation and thereby promotes longevity.
