Carrot rösti


Swiss version of the tortilla with carrots, eggs and cheese.

The word may be written Rösti or Roesti or Röschti, and it is already plural, no need to add "es" like an English word.
This dish originated in Switzerland but if you go back further, it looks like the Spanish potato omelette known as the Tortilla de Patata.
This recipe with carrots is a version among others. Note that carrot cooked has a high glycemic index even if it has less calories than potato. So to avoid for someones and rarely eat for all.
We can add spices: cumin, ginger, cinnamon in very small doses.

Ingredients

  • Carrot: 100g
  • Egg: 20g
  • Gruyere: 10g
  • Flour: 5g
  • Oil: 2g
  • Salt:

Ustensiles

    Oven.

Preparation


    Grate the cheese and carrots separately.
    Beat the egg.
    Mix egg, carrot, cheese, flour, spice.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Heat oil in skillet.
    Cook the rosti like donuts.

Serve


    Warm.
