Apple crumble

The crumble is a British pastry appeared during the Second World War, when suffering from a shortage of flour. To compensate, a mixture was crumbled over fruits, which gave the appearance of a paste. The mixture consisted of a little flour and sugar making it a rather energy dish, but there are recipes to lower glycemic index, using rolled oats. We can also incorporate other fruits, and complete oats with crushed almonds.

Ingredients

  • Apple: 100g
  • Oatmeal: 20g
  • Butter: 10g
  • Sugar: 15g
  • Cinnamon: 1g
  • Oil: 2g

Ustensiles

    Oven.
    Frying pan.
    Pie plate.
    Bowl.

Preparation

    Fruits


    Cut apples into cubes.
    Cook in a frying pan and oil 10 minutes.

    Crumble


    Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
    In salad bowl, combine oats, sugar and softened butter or cut into pieces.
    In a buttered dish, add apples and cover with the paste.
    Bake 20 minutes.

Serve


    Hot or cold.
