Stroganoff Vegetable Steak


This dish of Russian origin - here adapted to the modern world - is said to have been named after Count Alexander Grigorievich Stroganov. Different variants for this recipe that is popular in Russia since the 19th-century but also in many other countries in America, Europe, China.
In a variant, cognac is added to the broth or mustard.
May be writen Stroganoff or Stroganov.
The first know writen recipe was in 1861 in a classic russia recipe book under this name.

  • Vegetable steack: 100g
  • Mushroom: 60g
  • Onion: 20g
  • Tomato: 5g
  • Flour: 3g
  • Fresh cream: 20g
  • Oil: 2g
  • Broth: 5g
  • Salt:

Preparation

    Steack


    Flour the steak.
    Brown in oil.

    Mushroom

    Brown the onion.
    Add mushrooms.
    Cook a few minutes.
    Add broth.
    Then the tomato juice.
    Cook 5 minutes.

    All together

    Add the steak.
    Add the cream.
    Cook twenty minutes.
    The sauce must be thick.

Serve

    Optionally add parsley.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Serve hot.
